Series should lead the reading, not individual images.
This homepage is built for curators, galleries, and institutions. Each project below opens as its own focused presentation page.
Body as Structure
A study of containment, pressure, and sculptural tension within the human form.
Constructed Body
Images in which gesture becomes architecture and the body behaves like an assembled object.
Threshold of Form
Works dealing with instability, balance, fragmentation, and the edge between figure and object.
Unstable Presence
Investigating the fragile boundary between figure and environment, where the body becomes almost architectural.
A concise statement works better than biography on the first encounter.
The body is not a subject. It is a structure.
I work with the human form as a physical object — something that can be bent, constrained, fragmented, or reassembled. In these images, the body loses its expected behavior and becomes a constructed element within space.
I am not interested in expression as illustration. I am interested in tension: between control and collapse, balance and distortion, elegance and discomfort.
All scenes are built physically. No artificial generation, no synthetic fabrication of the form. What appears improbable is achieved through real presence, pressure, material, and position.
The viewer is not asked to decode a story. The viewer is asked to remain inside uncertainty.
The body is not presented as identity or narrative. It is treated as structure, pressure, rhythm, and unresolved form.
Keep this section factual, short, and credible.
Szergej Afanaszjev is a Vienna-based fine art photographer whose work centres on the body as a constructed form. His images move between sculpture, performance, and photographic stillness, with a strong emphasis on physical staging and conceptual restraint.
Replace this paragraph with your final biography, selected publications, exhibitions, prizes, and institutional direction. Keep the tone neutral and precise.
A restrained sales section supports the artistic position better than a poster-shop homepage.
Use this block for a few editioned works only. Keep it selective. A full purchasing page is included separately.
